Avatar- Canine Freestyle Routine Improvisations- Dog training

Here is Splash and I improvising to the music of Avatar. We will be using this song for one of our routines. I am all over the place right now, so I thought posting this would give me a kick to get the routine down soon. I have gotten a bunch of ideas from just editing a couple days of practice sessions together. I loved the movie Avatar. Great great job! Even though it was ‘freestyling’, it had such beautiful flow - and your cues are so subtle. I, too, loved the skipping!

Well…Considering I’ve been listening to this song at least 4 times a day since December, and canine freestyle is by far my most favorite thing ever (next to chocolate), this video pretty much has to be my most favorite video I’ve seen in 2010, and of course my most favorite of all videos of Emily and Splash.
And yes, it did bring a tear to my eyes as well… Just last night I was listening to this song and imagining dogs soaring from tree to tree in the jungle… I’m hopeless, I know, haha.

I like the skip thing, but I want to train it to the point where I dont have to babble like a moron and move my hand constantly…
sure! I don’t mind being the human prop either if you need to watch what’s going on… the other day I was being a human table for another dog, and some passers by thought it was very weird…

Emily & Splash that was so beautiful! It flowed so well and was so smooth. I love the jumping over your back as you crawl, I just love that move. I also really like the skipping, she is doing so well at that! Really awesome routine!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the rebounds and back throughs!! You have a very unique routine. I also love the song. I really want your help with Crash and teaching him the body over that you and Splash do. He understands it, but cheats at times and just side jumps over my arms, instead of jumping over my whole body. It would be nice to have a second set of eyes, another brain, and someone else to click for him so I can just be an obstacle.
